Filmmaker: Norman Bonney DP, Tyson Wisbrock Director/DP

Pro or amateur: Pro DP

Synopsis: Music video for Lost Trailers “How ’bout You Don’t” shot in Las Vegas and Valley of Fire nearby

Production equipment used: Canon 5D Mark II, 16-35mm L II, 24-70mm L, 70-200mm L Non IS, Nikon 35mm 1.4, Nikon 50mm 1.4

Editing software: Avid

Editing Workflow: Uploaded video was just resized in Quicktime pro for You Tube

Favorite shot or clip in this film: Night stuff was amazing. I couldn’t believe how little light we needed for the night interiors. Shot at 2000 ISO and it seemed very clean at that speed. We shot this before the manual firmware so we were waving our hands around in front of the lens a lot to get consistent exposure

Tip for 5d MkII filmmakers: The aliasing really surprised me. You have to watch out for it where there are strong horizontal lines. It can be quite nasty. The camera’s size is a real pleasure to move around and get angles with which made it a very nimble tool. Used a loupe on the back which was really useful in bright locations. The car stuff was shot out of an SUV

You guys did an excellent job, you stayed focused on the clean music line and wrapped a simply story around it ..very easy to follow, well done!!

The motion of this feels like video, sorry. You should have slow-mo the non-band scenes 100%, and the band scenes 25%. You shoot with the audio sped up, and then you sync back in post.

This would have getting rid of the video motion look.
